Hand Therapy and Splinting
Hand Therapy and Splinting
Injuries or long-term conditions affecting our hands can significantly impair our ability to do even simple, everyday tasks.
Early and effective rehabilitation is important.
Using manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, dry needling or electrotherapy, the goal of hand therapy is to reduce
pain and improve strength & function of the hand, wrist and forearm.
Typical conditions treated include::
- Osteoarthritis
- Ligamentous injuries
- Post-fracture recovery
- De Quervain’s tenosynovitis
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
At Sportreat and TotaLife Care, Simon is able to provide onsite custom-made thermoplastic splinting
for finger, thumb and wrist injuries.
