Louise graduated her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2014 from the University of Notre Dame. After completing her degree she commenced work at Sportreat in the musculoskeletal and rehabilitation setting. At this time Louise’s work was focused on post-operative rehab and clinical work. During her second year as a new graduate she completed her Cert IV in Pilates and has provided specialised clinical exercise programs for patients in our Sportreat gym since completion in 2016.
In Louise’s previous sporting life she was a dedicated full-time gymnast, since then she has participated in netball, volleyball, swimming and pilates. She believes these experiences have given her a better understanding of injury management and prevention, which drives her to assist others who find themselves in a similar position returning to sport post-injury.
After falling pregnant and having her baby girl in 2017, Louise developed a special interest in Women’s Health. Since then she has completed a number of courses upskilling in Women’s and Men’s incontinence, Real-Time Ultrasound of Badder and Pelvic Floor and Ano-Rectal Dysfunction. Louise also has competency treating; mastitis, pelvic floor issues related to pregnancy and postpartum, return to exercise post-natal, prolapse, vaginismus, dyspareunia, pelvic pain in endometriosis and bladder pain syndrome and bowel advice for chronic constipation. Louise is expecting her second baby soon and has applied to commence her Clinical Masters in Women’s Health and Incontinence in the second half of this year.
