Colin Andrews

Senior Sports Physiotherapist


Colin is our Senior Sports Physiotherapist and has been working with us since 2016. Colin gained his first degree with honours in physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom in 2004. Subsequently, Colin completed his Master’s degree in clinical physiotherapy (sports major) at Curtin University in 2015 during which time he worked closely with the Perth Glory Football Club. Colin maintained his relationship with Perth Glory working with their youth and women’s teams and included overseas tours to Malaysia and Japan. Prior to joining Sportreat, Colin spent several years working for the National Health Service (NHS) across a wide array of physiotherapy disciplines and for elite, professional soccer teams in the UK. Colin’s travels then took him into private practice in New Zealand, where he was involved in treating the local rugby teams. Since making the permanent move to Perth, Colin has worked in both the public hospital system and in private practice north of the river. Aside from his various degrees, Colin helps maintain his contemporary knowledge of physiotherapy with numerous courses, including acupuncture which he has been practicing since 2007 and is a qualified strength & conditioning coach. Colin was proud to present at a major international sports medicine conference in London. Colin boasts membership to a wide range of medical committees and groups, including: Sports Medicine Australia, the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA, SPA, MPA) - Colin was awarded the title of Sports Physiotherapist by the APA in 2016; the New Zealand Society of Physiotherapists (MNZSP), Chartered Society of Physiotherapists UK (MCSP), Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists UK (AACP) the Australian Health Professions Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA). Due to Colin’s extensive experience in the various fields of physiotherapy he’s able to help patients with most issues they may be experiencing, including chest physio. Colin is particularly interested and experienced in any injuries involving soccer and is able to offer return to play rehabilitation programmes. Outside of physiotherapy, Colin enjoys playing and coaching soccer and is an avid Arsenal supporter. He also enjoys travelling, especially when elements of adventure and zoology are involved.
