Your Health Matters

Hi. My 10 year old daughter is doing a lot of little athletics and netball. She complains of sore knees often. I believe this could be due to flat feet, pigeon toes and knock knees. Do you have a physio who has more experience with this age group? I believe she might need sports taping to help her and if so I would like to know how to apply this each week. Who would you suggest we see, preferably after school hours? Thanks

Hi Donna,

Many thanks for your questions regarding your sporty 10 year old daughter. Knee pain in this age group, especially in the very active ones is not uncommon at all. Quite commonly we find it is a condition called Osgood Schlatter disease, which sounds much worse than it is.

All our Physiotherapists here are well experienced, educated and skilled to handle the problem you are most likely describing. We also have a resident Sports PodiatristJason Rzepecki who would be valuable in a foot biomechanical and gait assessment. We offer appointments 7am – 7pm, so are well positioned to help after school hours.

Please feel free to book online here or phone 9438 2400 at your earliest.
