Simon Smith

Senior Physiotherapist

About

Simon graduated from Notre Dame University. This course gave Simon a wide range of theoretical and practical experience. Theoretical experience across diverse areas such as cardiorespiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal and geriatrics. Practical experience included stints at Swan Districts, Sir Charles Gardner, Fremantle, Joondalup, Bunbury Regional and Osborne Park Hospitals as well as community settings. Simon has had an interesting path to physiotherapy having studied engineering previously but severe ACL tear led him to change of direction to physiotherapy. This coupled with a varied sporting background including experience at A grade cricket level in the WACA league has given him a keen interest in body biomechanics and all areas of injury rehabilitation in the musculoskeletal area. He is currently looking to expand his knowledge including in the areas of dry needling, sports training and taping techniques. At Sportreat Simon deals with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries ranging from spinal to peripheral from the general community to sporting settings in the clinic. He also does rehabilitative work at both the Mount and St John Murdoch Hospitals for patients who have had orthopaedic surgery, ensuring continuity of care. Outside of Sportreat Simon enjoys an active lifestyle including playing indoor cricket and gym workouts and supporting the mighty Dockers.
